more home decor...
We did some more unpacking and settling today. I hung our bathroom shelves, double towel rack and a hook in the bathroom. I finished putting books back on my bookshelf. It is even organized according to genre! I also hung the coat rack, which we will use for keys.
We bought a lamp/end table from Lowe's yesterday, also. We might go get another one next month to match the other side of the couch.

slow news week or slow news writer...
No, it hasn't been a slow news week. I've just been really busy with trying to get back into the swing of class. I took my friend to the airport this morning, then went to French class, then went to chapel for one of the few times this year. I went to hear Dr. Al Mohler, the President of Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, KY.
I promise, I will put more updates up soon.

hello, hello...
I felt Baby Perkins move for the first time last night! Valerie has been feeling him move around for a while now, but last night she put my hand on her belly and told me to feel.
After a minute or so, I felt a little bump. And then another bump. Baby Perkins kicked me several times! This is great! One day, I'll have to teach him that it is not okay to kick Mommy and Daddy...but for now I'm really excited about it!

Moving Day 3, Broken Wings...
I finally did it today. It is a sad, sad day. I had to clip the wing off of my desk. My big wonderful L-shaped corner desk is now just a plain boring square desk. This is just the first of a lifetime of sacrifice for children. It is really a small sacrifice.
Valerie is over at the new apartment putting the kitchen stuff away. Or at least she's supposed to be. I should call to check on her and to make sure that she hasn't inflated the airbed to take a little nap!

moving, day 1...
We started moving today. I moved just about everything that could be moved without substantial help and a better moving vehicle than my van. My friend, Chris Owens, helped me out today. (Thanks Chris!)
Tonight we are going to focus on finishing off some closets. We also are going to try to conquer the mountain! So far, I've cleared off at least half of the desk. We've still got a ways to go.

The Adventures of the Millers...
This beautiful portrait is called Peace, Baby! This is my sister's daughter, Paige. She's got big hair. And She's cute!
This Sean. He is a little joker!
You can see more of snapshots and the stories behind them at the adventures of the millers.
Now, if we could only get the Lambert side of the family to start blogging...

uuugggghhhh.....
I took my PhD entrance exam today...
It was pretty tough. I prepared and studied hard. I tried to really cover the stuff I knew well and thought would be on the test.
But, right on cue, Murphy's Law kicked into effect.
The test was over the material that I was weak in. I did okay. I certainly did not hit a homerun, but I think I'm gonna make it on base. We'll just see what happens next.
My entrance is not solely based on the exam, it is based on the fullness of my portfolio. Hopefully it will be strong enough.
May the Lord have mercy on me. (and perhaps Dr. Blount as well...)

new home...
Here are some pictures from our new apartment. We still have to move all of our stuff. But, we signed the lease today.
It also turns out that they went ahead and repainted our wall to the gold color. But, something went wrong with the paint coat. It did not dry very even. I'm thinking that they might repaint it. But on another note, we do like the color!
Also, notice the hardware on the cabinets. Not only are they hideous, but they are placed in the center of the doors?!?! What were they thinking?
